This week has been all about three things: Kickstarter filming, sending lots of emails and no sleep. On Wednesday night, Paige and Lauren stayed up all night long to finish our Kickstarter page. I was too zonked to stay up, so I sent my last email at midnight and passed out. After that one incredibly long night, our team is finally feeling like we are ready to launch this video campaign. There're still some odds and ends to take care of, but despite the lack of sleep and periods of stress, we are feeling FLAWLESS.
You just can't say the word 'flawless' in 2015 and not think of Beyoncé.
Earlier this week, Lauren, Paige and myself were at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School shooting our video (props to Bob Hayden and crew for making the process super easy and painless for us). We managed to book an incredible conference room on the 13th floor.
There were, of course, many shenanigans that ensued during our video shoot. One of the most notable was when Paige got covered in garbage goo looking for a receipt (allow me to explain...)
At one point in our video, Lauren illustrates how annoying it is to get a long receipt when you receive your bill at a restaurant. She says:
"Then you get this SCROLL. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THIS?!"
Lauren's voice in this scene is hilarious and delightfully wonky. In order to make the scene work perfectly, however, we needed a long receipt. In the hustle and bustle of getting to JHU on time, I had forgotten to save my long Safeway receipt from grocery shopping the night before. Paige was kind enough to run back her apartment and dig through the garbage to find the receipt. During this filthy trash can excavation, she got some old Greek yogurt on her hands, amongst other icky, wet garbage remnants. It was quite grotesque, and Paige showed up to our filming session with a grimace on her face and a semi-clean receipt in hand.
Despite Paige's unfortunate Greek yogurt encounter, that scene and the rest of filming went smoothly that day. There was lots of laughter, munching on snacks and Instagram pictures being snapped from every angle of the conference room. Overall, it was another splendid day with Full Society.
We've done a ton of work this week and we are super psyched about our Kickstarter officially launching in the next few days. Right now, though all we want to do is take a nice, long nap.
Until next time, cats and kiddies!
